Identifying Markets for Explosive and Predictable Sales

Date:
May 18, 2011

Time:
8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Registration and Networking
9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Seminar

Location:

Drexel University, One Capital Mall, Suite 260, Sacramento, CA 95814

Course Description:

Selling has been around since the Neanderthal started trading mammoth slabs with nearby cave dwellers. Formalized marketing came into the fore in the 1960’s, though successful businesses had been practicing the principles intuitively prior. Marketing drives sales. Business graveyards are filled with companies who failed to exercise this principle.

This seminar will focus on applying marketing principles to any business in any market. We will use examples from participants or from existing products to demonstrate the fundamentals. We’ll include ways to find the answers to the marketing questions raised.

Points to be covered:

Defining customer segments: their needs and demands, their options for need fulfillment, and their decision making

Positioning the offer: outlining the attributes that provide a competitive advantage

Pricing principles: avoiding leaving money on the table or driving down demand

Reaching customers: identifying the best channels of sales and distribution

Promoting the offer: approaches to communicating a message to your target market
